Fall Clean up in the garden…..

Ok, just so you know, I realize the above picture does not look like summer is over, but….the flower garden is holding up it’s white flag….It has been a struggle, trying to decide whether to hang on or give up. Mother nature is signaling that it’s time to go to bed. 🙁 Some of the dahlias are broken over and some are bent, not broken. So, I have been cutting what is left of the bouquets and bringing them in. However, its time to gather what is left, count my garden blessings and begin the process of fully accepting Fall is here, winter is around the corner and there is much to be done (thoughts of the little red hen are racing in my head!)
I haven’t even begun hauling in all the umbrella’s, outdoor furniture, lanterns, tables, etc. to storage yet. I’m still hoping for a good day or two to begin the exodus from yard and deck, to the garden shed. I know I will feel good when all this is accomplished!
In spite of needing to prepare for the coming months of no sunshine and plenty of rainy cold weather, I’ve already begun looking at gardening sites for seeds to plant in the spring!!!! I know this sounds crazy and yet I can’t wait for next years flower garden to begin! Soon there will be gardening catalogs arriving in my mail box and I will be drooling over what to get. I still need to go to the dahlia farm soon, to pick out new dahlias to plant in the spring. OMG so much do to do!!! I will spend the next few months, inside, cozied up with throw blankets, a fire in the stove, and planning and scheming about what the garden will look like next year! ♥♥♥
In the meantime, I will commit to Fall and all that it brings. There are many thing to love about this time of year……but we’ll talk about that later :)……..
I will let you know. The sooner the better!!! Can’t wait!! 🙂
Yes, dahlia farm soon…. just give me a call and I will be ready to go! It’s nice to know that as I am putting summer stuff away, I am not alone.
